LIFT A VET Hurricane Relief Effort
LIFT A VET corporate sponsors who are working with us to directly support, uplift, and save our veterans in Puerto Rico deserve recognition. These sponsors should be honored as they are enabling LIFT A VET to provide generators, fuel, transport, boots on the ground, coordination, and more for our Hurricane Relief Effort. Please take a minute to visit their sites and support them so they may continue to work through us in support of our heroes.
LIFT A VET personnel are on site in Puerto Rico and working directly with the U.S. Navy and the VA Department to airlift and transport veterans with critical medical needs and their family members.
Sometimes heroes need help too...
The LIFT A VET Hurricane Relief Effort directly supports our veterans isolated in the Caribbean whose homes have been decimated by the recent barrage of hurricanes. Some require only the basic essentials to survive while ALL require our compassion and caring, along with our devotion to lift them up in these times of desperate need.

LIFT A VET is a Maryland-based nonprofit organization of veterans, medical personnel, professional innovators and developers. We uplift veterans, their families and communities allowing them to reach their full potential.
Our organization is accepting monetary and product donations for supplies and to purchase portable 3,300 – 4,000 watt, residential generators to send to Puerto Rico as they are dealing with the recovery from Hurricane Maria. We are coordinating with the State of Maryland Governor’s Office to arrange for delivery of these supplies but we must first follow FEMA and the Government of Puerto Rico protocols as they are working 24x7 to stabilize the situation on the island and provide immediate assistance to the general population. Although we are dedicated to assisting veterans, we will also extend our assistance to the community as well.
The immediate objective is to provide veterans minimal electric power to sustain life supporting medical equipment and/or refrigerated medicines while recovery efforts take place. Island hospitals are currently inundated as they work hard to care for these veterans and citizens during the recovery process, so it is important that we assist them in any way we can.
LIFT A VET is also an approved organization by the Department of Defense (DoD) Funded Transportation Program (DENTON). The DENTON program is to allow U.S. based non-governmental sources to transport humanitarian aid at little or no cost to the donor, while simultaneously putting the extra space on U.S. military transport assets to good use. We are registered with the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration (PRFAA) in Washington, D.C. and are waiting for their acknowledgment to start all coordination efforts to deliver these goods to the island. LIFT A VET is registered and authorized to do business in Puerto Rico. Our Puerto Rico registration number is 369233; EIN: 81-1272342; Maryland ID: D17009093We can provide certificates for business operation in Maryland and Puerto Rico as well as certificates of good standing for both locations upon request.
The response has been positive and heartfelt, however, a lot more action is required to save our veterans and their communities. We greatly appreciate your contribution to show that our veterans really matter.
Sincerely,
Raul E. Rosas, Executive Director (raul.rosas@liftavet.org)
